Internal Audit Manager – Banking

If you are bright, have an engaging and inquisitive personality and are interested in joining a progressive and growing bank then this opportunity could be for you. The ideal candidate will have a retail or commercial banking internal audit background and be leading or close to leading their own audits. You could be looking for more responsibility or autonomy offered by working in a smaller but growing audit team perhaps compared to some of the much bigger banks where there is more bureaucracy and less ability to make an impact both in the function and within the company. You will have input into the annual audit plan and progression doesn’t depend on others moving on.

Although not formally a “challenger” bank, this bank which has been established for many years, has in the last few years grown exponentially under a new Management team. Reflecting the business growth, the Internal Audit team has similarly grown and, now would be an excellent time to join. I have placed most of the team over the years and everyone enjoys working for this organisation, both because of the broad scope of the audit work but because of the almost ‘family’ atmosphere where even the most junior team members have access to the most senior Executives.

Work consists of a mixture of deep dive audits but also there is increasingly short, sharp assurance pieces of work, off the audit plan often initiated by senior management. Opportunities exist to progress in the audit team, but people have also moved internally.
