Banking Auditor – Associate

One of my favourite clients has asked me to support them to hire an Internal Auditor to cover all aspects of their banking business. This includes retail, corporate, private and investment banking along with capital markets.

This is a great opportunity for someone bright with good interpersonal skills who works within financial services internal or external audit, to gain experience across a broad range of banking including thematic and IT general computer controls reviews. Whilst this is a business audit role, the candidate will also be expected to participate in integrated audits and if the candidate wants to develop their Technology and Data Analytics skills further then the department will happily support training and qualifications such as CISA.

I have placed the Head of Audit and many others in the audit team over the last 20 years. I placed the Head of Audit in a similar position to this and it took them 10 years to rise to become Head of Audit. Feedback has always been extremely positive; the culture is nurturing and supportive and the flat structure means you gain more responsibility organically as you develop. You don’t have to wait for someone to move to gain additional responsibility, it happens when you are ready for it.

The bank supports training and development and offers a social environment in which to work. There are frequent company and team socials along with annual departmental off-sites. There is also the opportunity, but not expectation to travel internationally for example to the U.S., Switzerland, and Asia.
