Head of Audit (SMF5) – Potentially Part-time

  • London
  • To c.£150,000 + Bonus + Excellent Bens

This London based bank seeks a Head of Audit who will hold the SMF5 designation.

The successful candidate will have a blank canvas to shape their own audit function. This includes deciding between hiring inhouse resource and use of co-source to deliver the audit plan along with any special project work.

This role will suit a Senior Manager or potentially a non-SMF5 Head of Audit who is on an upward trajectory in their career and looking to take on more responsibility. Alternatively, it could suit an experienced Head of Audit, who is happy to move to a part-time role, three or more likely four days a week for the same budget. This person must be comfortable being both “hands-on” but also interacting with the most senior stakeholders, such as the CEO and Chair of the Audit Committee as well as the regulator.

The ideal person will have experience of managing/leading a small team, interacting with senior stakeholders and boards/committees and potentially regulators. Experience of managing co-source relationships could also be useful. He or she is most likely to come from a wealth management, retail, commercial or private banking background, or potentially from an internal audit focused Practice role at Director level with a similar client base.

This is a unique opportunity to join a financial organisation which values work/life balance and embraces empathy, integrity, and philanthropy.
