Compliance Officer

My client is a leading UK wide Employee Benefits and Pensions Consultancy. Having placed within the Senior Management team we are now seeking an experienced Compliance Officer with experience in the Pensions and EB sector to be based from London (hybrid and WFH flexibility) with oversight of the Compliance team of 6.  A willingness to take on SMF16 and SMF17 in due course is desirable.  A legal background would be desirable as the role requires leading on legal matters including third party contracts.

Duties and responsibilities will include, providing regulatory guidance to the business, supporting key risk mitigation activities, taking the lead on regulatory change and assessing impact to the business, presenting reports and MI for committee meetings, enhancing the existing compliance strategy,  ensure an effective training and competence scheme is in place, manage regulatory reporting and SMCR responsibilities, handle queries from the FCA, Institute and Faculty of Actuaries and ICO and oversee the management of breaches and complaints.

The ideal candidate will have excellent regulatory knowledge in DB/DC pensions and Employee Benefits. Ideally be a qualified lawyer or with a legal background. Possess effective interpersonal skills, sound judgment and sensitivity to deal with confidential business and client-related issues. Strong leadership skills with ability to manage and motivate the Compliance Team.
