Compliance Consultant

  • WFH / in London 2 days a week
  • £450 per day (umbrella)

Compliance consultant required for a market-leading media firm. The role will be centred on ensuring their Compliance Programme is effectively designed and delivered across the group. You will be working within the Quality, Risk & Assurance team and be working closely with the Risk department.

Responsibilities:

  • Promoting understanding of compliance & ethics issues and related policies and procedures throughout the organisation
  • Coordinating the annual compliance risk assessment, Group Modern Slavery multi-year Programme, including the Modern Slavery Statement
  • Reviewing compliance policies and procedures to ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and our Code of Conduct
  • Conducting routine and risk-based second-line compliance monitoring and assurance activity of relevant business activities (relating in particular, to anti-bribery and corruption, fraud, tax evasion) and related policies and procedures; identifying potential areas of compliance vulnerability and risk; assisting in and overseeing the implementation of remediation plans as necessary and generating reports on monitoring, auditing and risk assessments
  • Drafting concise, accurate Executive-level summaries and detailed reports of activities, that provide leadership with a clear and coherent understanding of issues, findings, and outcomes
  • Partnering with BBC employees (including Senior Leaders) to maintain and further develop throughout the organisation a strong culture of compliance and ethics including personal accountability, at all levels in the organisation, with a spirit of partnership and problem-solving
  • Ensuring horizon scanning, and maintaining awareness of regulatory compliance developments within or outside of the company; including remaining up to date on global approaches, emerging trends etc.
  • Other responsibilities may be assigned from time to time by the Head of Risk

As an ideal candidate, you will have an industry certification or a degree equivalent.  You will also have a proven track record of delivery in a similar role and have experience with legislation in tax evasion, ethics, modern slavery and ethical trading. Project management experience is essential.
