Internal Audit Manager

  • London
  • To £80,000

This Investment Manager is a trailblazer in the subjects of sustainability and ESG. It has been raising the profile of these areas for many years now, well before they were mainstream and has been using its power and influence to really make a difference in this space.

Although the firm is seen as relatively niche and small to mid-sized it covers all asset classes – private equity, infrastructure, real estate, private debt, fixed income, equities etc. This person would have the opportunity to work across all areas of the business.

The Internal Audit team is between half a dozen and ten people covering a UK business based in the City employing between five and seven hundred people. Internal Audit has the ability to call upon a wider Group audit function.

Although a listed company, the firm has a good ‘family’ culture with leading members of the Board still from the founding family. Hybrid working theoretically should be 3 days a week in the office but, they are flexible on this if the work gets done.

Why Join this company over others?

I asked the Head of Audit “Why join this company over others?” and he responded with.

  1. The firm is incredibly welcoming and a friendly place to work, even for Internal Audit!
  2. While it is a relatively small firm it covers all asset classes.
  3. The firm is famed for being at the forefront of sustainability and influencing good corporate governance and employs several prominent experts in this field.
  4. Family feel – the parent is listed but run like a family business where people are valued and work closely together with a common purpose. They are moving towards being a more integrated global company, but this isn’t to cut costs, it is to work more effectively together and share expertise and give employees more options in their career paths.
