Compliance Monitoring Analyst

The main purpose of the role will be to provide assurance that regulatory compliance controls are operating effectively by performing thorough monitoring reviews in a number of areas relevant to the business.Based in Luxembourg and reporting to the Senior Compliance Officer, this role within our Compliance team will support and maintain the culture of compliance and good governance for our various insurance platforms.

The postholder will be well-organised and proactive, providing timely compliance monitoring services.  In doing so, the capability to integrate within the business, engage with stakeholders, as well as a strong attention to detail, will be crucial to success.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assuming responsibility for the compliance monitoring programme thereby assisting the Compliance team in ensuring business compliance with Luxembourg, local country regulations of the Branches, and non-EEA regulations. The programme will involve:
  • Analysis and review of data: specifically assessing and reporting on business areas’ compliance with licensing requirements and economic sanctions and with measures designed to contain their exposure to financial crime, being bribery and money-laundering.
  • Upon analysis and review of data, liaising with the business as required to resolve exceptions.
  • Preparation of monitoring reports to a high standard.
  • Review and development of the compliance monitoring framework.
  • Completion of bi-annual anti-money laundering reports.
  • Maintenance of the Compliance Department financial crime and business compliance documented procedures.
  • Updates to the Compliance financial crime and licensing intranet pages.
  • Providing guidance to others in the company on compliance with relevant regulatory rules and codes of practice and circulating information to key stakeholders.
  • Providing co-ordination support for internal audit reviews and regulatory visits.

 

Skills required / Personal Specification:

Essential:

  • Strong analytical, written and communication skills.
  • An instinct to be proactive, collaborative and helpful to colleagues, following up tasks appropriately, keeping the team up-to-date on activities and progress

Desirable:

  • Language skills – English, French, German, Spanish, Italian in particular.
  • Experience of similar responsibilities in a compliance or internal audit role within an insurance company, the Lloyd’s market or other financial institution preferable.
