Senior Operational Risk Officer – Luxembourg AIFM

We are currently seeking a highly skilled and proactive Senior Operational Risk Officer to join our team at a prominent AIFM in Luxembourg. The ideal candidate will bring a wealth of experience as an Operational Risk Manager, with a background in either Management Companies or AIFMs.

Responsibilities:

• Lead the development and implementation of the Operational Risk Management Framework, demonstrating proactive involvement in its construction and enhancement.
• Inquire about the candidate’s familiarity with “DORA” (Digital Operational Resilience Act), set to be enforced from January 17, 2025, and the establishment of Operational Risk Management related to “ICT/IT” (Information and Communications Technology).
• Possess expertise in the valuation of Debt products, particularly focusing on illiquid debt.
• Demonstrate experience or a keen interest in ESG (Environment, Social, Governance), a progressively significant aspect in the financial landscape.
• Flexibility to contribute to other risk activities, including Investment Risk and Valuation, ensuring optimal utilization of working hours.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Proven experience as an Operational Risk Manager within the financial services sector, preferably in Management Companies or AIFMs.
• Familiarity with regulatory frameworks, especially “DORA,” and the ability to implement Operational Risk Management practices for ICT/IT.
• Strong understanding of the valuation processes, with a focus on illiquid debt products.
• Knowledge or interest in ESG, showcasing a forward-thinking approach to risk management.
• Fluent in English; German language proficiency is advantageous but not mandatory.
• Openness to training and collaboration in various risk activities beyond Operational Risk.
