Senior Compliance Manager

My client is a retail banking institution based in London.

They are looking to hire a regulatory compliance officer with retail banking compliance exposure.

This role focuses on providing compliance advisory support to the business on all compliance and regulatory topics in relation to the Bank’s banking products i.e. current, savings and deposit accounts, card offerings, to ensure that the Bank meets regulatory requirements and expectations.

• Offer regulatory advice, support, and constructive criticism to the first line of defence regarding the Bank’s banking products and investment business.
• Primarily focus on acquiring and maintaining comprehensive knowledge of relevant legislation, regulations, and guidance issued by regulatory bodies like the UK, EU, and others. This knowledge pertains to core banking products for individual and corporate customers, including current accounts, deposit and savings accounts, cards, FX, and interest rate derivatives.
• Clearly communicate and explain regulatory expectations and standards to colleagues, both verbally and in written form. This includes current business practices, new business initiatives, and emerging regulatory requirements.
• Assist the business in implementing regulatory changes promptly and in compliance with regulations.
• Collaborate with the first line of defence (1LoD) to develop and implement controls that meet regulatory expectations.
• Attend key governance committees and represent the compliance team, providing real-time advice and constructive challenges to stakeholders.
• Report and escalate significant regulatory risks to senior management and governance committees.
• Collaborate with other assurance functions in the second line and third line to evaluate regulatory risks.
• Contribute to compliance reporting for internal committees and external regulators.
• Manage a team of compliance officers, ensuring the achievement of business objectives and providing guidance and support as necessary. Additionally, support personal development and growth while acting as a role model and mentor for team members.
• Stay informed and connected with external regulatory bodies and industry groups.

Salary on offer is up to £100,000 on the base with flexible working.
