Operational Risk & Assurance Manager

This opportunity involves supporting the Head of Operational Risk and Senior Operational Risk & Assurance Manager in managing the bank-wide operational risk framework. This includes acting as a key contact for the 1st line in defense, aiding in Risk Assessments and day-to-day testing. You’ll also be responsible for delivering the Risk Function’s independent testing and assurance program, assessing the effectiveness of controls, procedures, and policies, and providing reporting to demonstrate findings.

Key Responsibilities:

• Support the business and second-line risk teams to establish an effective risk management framework across the bank.
• Implement an assurance program for risk assessments throughout the business.
• Conduct testing on control design and operational effectiveness, with an ability to create testing strategies and provide clear results reporting.
• Manage the risk event process, including investigations and root cause analysis, escalating risks as needed.
• Collaborate with the business on lessons learned investigations and ensure action implementation.
• Oversee the bank’s central policy hub and create key reports for risk committees and senior management.
• Represent the risk team on committees and projects to promote a strong risk culture.

Requirements:

• Banking experience with strong knowledge of Risk and Control Frameworks.
• Experience in 1LOD or 2LOD risk management roles.
• Ability to conduct independent monitoring of processes and controls.
• Experience in risk event management and incidents.
• Strong analytical and detail-oriented with excellent PC skills.
• Enthusiastic, flexible, and a team player.
• Self-motivated and eager to learn and develop.
