Insurance Risk Manager

An excellent opportunity has arisen for an Insurance Risk Manager to join a leading Insurance organisation. You will be responsible for leading day-to-day on all aspects of risk. The successful candidate will support the Insurance risk Leadership team in the development, implementation, and oversight of the Enterprise Risk Management Framework across the business.

 

The Job:

  • Supporting and leading, where required on the design, implementation, and oversight of the enterprise risk management framework.
  • Monitoring and overseeing the efficiency and effectiveness of the risk policy and processes, including risk and control assessment and analysis.
  • Ensuring that Board approved risk appetite statement with supporting KRIs is regularly reviewed, updated, and reported on.
  • Ensuring the Business Unit captures risk data in accordance with Risk Policies to help inform the decision-making process.
  • Actively promoting a risk culture of care that encourages risk taking, aligned to strategy and risk appetite.
  • Ensuring Insurance management have a sound understanding of the Risk Management Framework through formal training, informal discussion, online tools, policies, and guidance documents.
  • Providing 2nd  line of defence support, challenge, and guidance regarding financial matters within the Business Units and including meeting regulatory obligations, where relevant.
  • Drafting policies and coordinating risk content for key reports, such as Annual Report and Accounts, ORSA, or TC2.4

 

Your experience:

  • Demonstrable background working within Operational Risk/Enterprise Risk within an Insurance organisation.
  • Proven track record of working effectively through change with senior management on the risk agenda.
  • Ability to build strong stakeholder relationships across the business.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Demonstrable competence in writing clear and concise executive summaries and producing performance packs for Senior Management.
