ESG / Climate Risk Manager

Our client is a boutique consultancy firm who are looking for a dynamic and entrepreneurial manager to join their London team.  This will suit an individual who has experience in Management Consulting and/or the Banking Industry, particularly in Risk Management, and are well-versed in ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) matters.

Requirements:

• Experience: 6-10 years of experience in Management Consulting and/or the Banking Industry, with a strong preference for Risk Management experience.
• ESG Knowledge: 2-3 years of experience in ESG, including projects related to the integration of ESG in strategy and bank steering, climate risk stress testing, emission calculation (PACTA), development of decarbonization targets (SBTi / PACTA), and regulatory disclosure (Pillar 3) or non-financial reporting (TCFD, ISSB).
• Regulatory Awareness: Ideally, knowledge of current regulatory requirements related to ESG, such as local UK regulations, ECB Guide on Climate and Environmental Risk, EU-Taxonomy, CSRD, and EBA guidelines on Pillar 3 reporting. Familiarity with other frameworks like SDGs, TCFD, and Sustainable Finance is a plus.
• Risk Management: Experience in ICAAP/ILAAP, risk appetite/limiting, stress testing, capital management, recovery/resolution, or similar areas.
• Quantitative Background: A quantitative background with strong analytical skills and an interest in quantitative topics.
• Software Proficiency: Proficiency in Excel is required, and it’s a plus if you have experience with R and Python and their applications in a work environment.
• Communication Skills: Strong communication skills and the ability to work in a team or manage a team.
• Independence and Quick Learning: Ability to work independently and quickly grasp new topics.
• Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to independently structure and derive innovative solutions for complex topics within short timeframes.
• Commercial Awareness: Commercial awareness and the ability to find and foster client relationships.
