Our client, a leading financial services group, is seeking a passionate and driven Financial Risk Associate to be part of their Group Risk division. This is an exciting opportunity where you’ll play a key role in monitoring, assessing, and reporting on financial risks that shape the organisation’s success.

 

Responsibilities:

 

  • Dive deep into financial risk information from various departments, challenging the status quo and ensuring accurate analysis of capital and liquidity risks.
  • Prepare regular financial risk reports for influential senior management and committees, showcasing your ability to deliver under tight timelines.
  • Collaborate on ad hoc papers for senior committees, making a direct impact on risk appetite statements and policy approvals with the guidance of experienced team members.
  • Drive the formulation and implementation of cutting-edge policies, procedures, and methodologies while maintaining compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Foster strong relationships with stakeholders across the organisation through effective communication.
  • Provide invaluable guidance to business units and functions on queries related to financial risks.
  • Act as an agent of change by actively contributing to identifying areas for improvement in reporting and processes.

 

Skills and competencies required – critical:

 

  • Possess knowledge and experience in a variety of financial risks, including liquidity risk, credit risk, regulatory capital and stress testing, and market risk.
  • Unleash your passion for financial risk by diving into numerical data, analysing it with precision, and uncovering hidden insights.
  • Show your adaptability and flexibility as a vital member of a small team, always ready to take on new challenges.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy are your superpowers, ensuring flawless execution of tasks.
  • Excel in organisational skills, enabling you to juggle priorities and contribute to the overall success of the team.

Skills and competencies required – highly advantageous:

 

  • Bring your experience from the banking, regulatory reporting, risk environment, or major accounting or consultancy firms to the table.
  • Leverage your advanced knowledge of Excel and PowerPoint to conquer any data-related challenge.
  • Unleash your numerical prowess with a numerate degree and impressive results at Math’s A level or equivalent.
  • Showcase excellent report writing skills, painting vivid pictures with your words.
  • Your interpersonal skills shine brightly, allowing you to build meaningful relationships across the business.
