Legal Counsel
My client is a large financial services business with a global footprint and they are looking for a Lawyer to join their team to support the data services side of the business.
This role reports into the Senior Lawyer in the department who has been with the business for many years and be part of a wider team of about 5.
The company and team support the global business so there is an opportunity to work closely with other jurisdictions delivering some really exciting projects.
This team works very closely with the business to deliver commercial outcomes and the ability to work quickly and pragmatically are key.
They need between 4-6 years PQE ideally. The role requires someone to have enough experience to stand on their own two feet without constant supervision but it’s not yet a leadership role.
The ideal candidate will be working in an in house commercial team and used to delivering large scale projects at speed. Tech based commercial law experience is a must have. Exposure to data licensing agreements would be very useful but not a necessity. They are a regulated business so exposure to that sector would again be helpful but not absolutely required.
They are a really fast paced business that is constantly growing and adding new entities and products to the work should remain consistently interesting.
They have an excellent overall package on offer that would be very competitive against most similar firms but will require people in 5 days a week. This is a non-negotiable.
Qualification in England & Wales is preferred but other jurisdictions with very relevant experience could also work. They are open minded if qualification was via a law firm or in house.
It’s a brilliant business in a really varied and interesting role that will see you develop strong relationships with business stakeholders. For someone at this stage in their career it will tick a lot of boxes in terms of development.
