Position: Senior Systems Engineer

Location: South West England, (Hybrid and Flexible working environment)

Type: Permanent

Salary: £50,000 – £75,000

My client is looking for a Senior Systems Engineer to join their team who will be instrumental in developing new technology roadmaps, architecture and designs to innovate and develop new products for the future.

Some of the tools and technologies you will be working with are:

• A mixture of underlying technical background spanning across Windows, Linux, LAN, Firewalls, Cloud, Software, Scripting and Clampdowns/technologies
• Exposure with Hardware, Servers, Storage, Backup, Network appliances
• Experience with product/system safety – Physical & Electrical safety as well as environmental and security

What you will be doing is:

• Analyse, define, evaluate, plan, and deliver systems to meet programme, business, and customer requirements.
• Apply engineering and architecture expertise to complex products, systems and process development.
• Building strong relationships with customers and stakeholders
• Maintain a good understanding of competitors and suppliers’ products and services.
• Lead and inspire the team to continually raise the bar and push technology boundaries.
• Facilitate the evolution of innovation ideas, prototyping, development, productionising, delivery, support, and decommissioning.
• Support wider business vison and strategy to achieve business objectives.

Essential skills:

• Strong understanding of IT
• Experience in design, development and delivery of plans, processes, products, systems, and services
• Cost/benefits analysis for appropriate technologies in areas such as compute, storage, and networking including security aspects.

Desirable and understanding of:

Professionally Registered – Chartered Engineer – CEng or willingness to obtain.

• MoD or Industry IT projects and programmes
• Information Assurance (IA) and cyber security
• Security architectures, COTS integration and virtualisation
• Cloud-based solutions
