Internal Audit Manager

I have been asked to help this unique financial institution build out its Internal Audit function with the first hire, under a new Head of Audit. The team is set to grow, as is the company over the coming months and years. The business model means that income is generated not only from AUM but other transactions and advice which diversifies revenue streams and helps insulate the business from recession.

There are over 1,000 staff internationally with the main centre being London. The company essentially is a Wealth Manager for very wealthy individuals and includes asset management, broker dealer services etc.

The ideal candidate is someone who will have financial services internal audit experience.  He or she doesn’t need to be from a Big 4 background or qualified but experience in a relevant area e.g. Wealth, Asset Management, Private Banking etc. will be particularly helpful. It is a small team so it is important that there is a good team and cultural fit and this person shows enthusiasm and potential to progress. The Audit team will grow and this person will be well placed as a succession plan to the current Head of Audit in the medium term.

The firm is very collaborative, it is a genuinely a nice place to work. The fact that it is growing both organically and by acquisition helps maintain a ‘can do’ positive culture. There is a hybrid working model, 3 days in the office and 2 from home. Travel is low to start with but there may be an expectation to do some short haul trips as time goes by but nothing onerous.

Interviews will be over 2 stages, ideally with one being face to face.
