Internal Audit Manager

  • London
  • £75-80,000 + Bonus + Bens

This international private and commercial bank has recently been taken over. The new owners were so impressed by the London Internal Audit team that they approved a headcount increase to help the department deliver more audits and “special work”.

This role sits in a small but experienced audit team, which works closely together and almost has the feel of being in an extended family. I have placed the whole team except for the Head of Audit over the last two years and feedback has been very positive. The work is interesting and covers all aspects of the bank, and while there is a Head Office abroad, the UK team works reasonably autonomously. The work life balance is excellent, the hours are very much 9-5pm and internal audit is well respected within the business. The Head of Audit is very supportive, keen to facilitate the team’s development, sponsoring qualifications where appropriate, while at the same time championing a flexible and mature working environment.

The bank is trialling a 3 day a week hybrid approach, which London employees hope and expect will continue after the 6 months trial completes. On starting in post there will be an expectation that this person will be onsite 5 days a week for the first 3 or 4 weeks as they get to know the bank and staff. Although the bank is international, overseas travel will be minimal.
