My client is a major financial services group covering Insurance and Asset Management. This role focuses on its retail business as well as some elements of central services. These businesses can be broken down into workplace pensions, protection products such as life insurance and critical illness cover and lifetime mortgages. Central functions could include aspects of ESG, Risk, Finance etc.

Group Internal Audit is considered “best in class”. A recent EQA was very positive highlighting its innovation and extensive use of data analytics. It is well considered both internally and by the PRA which delegate audits to be performed by the team each year. More broadly this company has an inclusive culture, using its capital to regenerate run-down areas creating social housing and infrastructure projects. It also has a leadership programme for top performers giving exposure to senior people not necessarily from internal audit.

This role reports to a Director who is known for helping to mentor and develop his team. You will gain exposure to senior stakeholders and work collaboratively with the wide team to deliver high profile audits. The work will be challenging and rewarding. Relevant areas for audits include consumer duty and anything with a customer focus.

There is an emphasis on work/life balance. Care is taken to ensure the balance between work and life is healthy and sustainable. Hybrid working is offered with a general assumption of 50% of time will be spent in the central London offices. There is minimal travel with the role.
