Senior Audit Manager – Asset Management & Investment Banking

  • London
  • £110,000 - £125,000 per year

A major international financial services group is looking to recruit a Senior Audit Manager with strong investment management experience, ideally spanning both public and private markets, to join its London-based Internal Audit function.

The position offers a particularly interesting combination of asset management, private markets and broader banking audit coverage, including corporate banking, investment banking and sales and trading. This makes it attractive to candidates looking to apply their specialist investment management knowledge while developing experience across a wider range of sell-side activities.

The successful candidate will act as the Internal Audit subject matter expert for Asset Management and Private Markets, helping to formulate the audit plan for these businesses and leading complex, risk-based audits from planning and scoping through to fieldwork, reporting and follow-up.

The position offers considerable autonomy, regular interaction with senior stakeholders and the opportunity to influence the effectiveness of governance, risk management and internal controls. Candidates should have experience leading complex audits and managing audit teams through individual assignments, although previous formal line management experience is not required. The ability to engage credibly with senior management, produce high-quality audit reports and build trusted relationships while maintaining independent challenge will be important.

One of the most attractive aspects of this opportunity is the ability to continue developing specialist expertise in investment management and private markets while gaining valuable experience across corporate and investment banking. This combination could open up longer-term career opportunities on either the buy-side or sell-side.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced audit professional seeking a senior, hands-on role offering broad audit coverage, significant autonomy and exposure to a substantial international financial services business. The role is city based and only requires only 10 days a month in the office.
