My client is a major integrated energy and chemical company, who seeking a motivated individual to join their team as a Crude and Shipping Credit Analyst. The Role: Credit Risk Analyst – Crude and Shipping

In this role, you will be responsible for performing daily credit risk management tasks and developing a thorough understanding of risks associated with crude and shipping trading. As a Crude and Shipping Credit Analyst, you will work under the supervision of the Credit Risk Manager to perform credit risk management functions.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct initial and ongoing compliance checks on all existing and prospective counterparties
  • Conduct ad hoc and periodic counterparty assessments
  • Work with internal stakeholders on credit related issues
  • Prepare credit applications for local and HQ signoff
  • Enhance internal process and procedures in consultation with relevant departments
  • Monitor counterparty exposure and control credit status of approved counterparty
  • Manage credit collateral
  • Recommend changes in credit limits/approval status for senior management approval

Experience & Skills:

  • 3 – 5 years in a trading environment, with exposure to trading of crude oil, LNG and shipping
  • Experienced understanding of counterparty credit risk
  • Working knowledge of risk analysis and mitigation methodology
  • Strong Microsoft office and excel skills
