Risk & Compliance Analyst – Retail

This is a prominent retailer specializing in beds, mattresses, and bedroom furniture. With a strong presence in manufacturing, warehousing, retail, and more, Bensons for Beds is committed to quality sleep solutions and recently restructured its Internal Audit, Risk & Compliance function. Located near Blackburn/ Burnley & offers flexi working – 2days in the office.

The Role:

seeking a dedicated Risk, Compliance, and Assurance Analyst to join its recently restructured Internal Audit, Risk & Compliance function. Reporting to the Senior Audit, Risk & Compliance Manager, this role will play a vital part in overseeing business continuity, product quality, health and safety, insurance, risk mitigation, and compliance. The Analyst will collaborate across all business units, ensuring a systematic risk management approach and driving best practices for continuous improvement.

Responsibilities include:

  • Develop, implement, and manage a disciplined risk management approach, identifying, owning, mitigating, and monitoring principal risks.
  • Scan the internal and external environment to identify emerging risks and align risk exposure with risk appetite.
  • Coordinate business units’ Business Continuity and crisis management approaches, ensuring up-to-date plans and colleague training.
  • Ensure compliance with transport, environmental, and FCA regulations, acting as a single point of contact for insurance-related matters.
  • Manage and improve Bensons’ insurance framework, overseeing renewals, investigations, claims, and acting as the primary liaison with insurers and other stakeholders.

Skills Needed:

  • Previous experience implementing risk management approaches and managing risk through registers.
  • Broad compliance and some insurance experience in a retail setting.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills to engage effectively with business leaders.
  • Adaptability to work in a changing environment and manage a fast-paced workload.
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
  • Ability to build and maintain effective stakeholder relationships.
