Position: Senior Software Engineer

Salary: Up to £60,000 – £69,000

Overview:

My client is looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join their team who has proven experience within the Software development lifecycle and processes utilising tools such as C++ and/or Java.

What you will be doing is:

  • Generation and management of requirements, design, software development and testing of technical solutions
  • Performing peer reviews and test definition
  • Adherence to project processes and software development practices
  • Supporting System Test and Integration Activities
  • Production of technical documentation
  • May supervise work of more junior staff members, estimation, and reporting on progress
  • Liaising with multiple stakeholders

Essential skills:

  • Strong understanding of Software development lifecycle and processes (e.g. design, coding, unit testing), and tools (e.g. UML design tools, code IDEs)
  • Experience using C++ and/or Java, and desktop-based applications, Windows O/S
  • Experienced in object-oriented design/development including UML, SysML or XML

Desirable:

  • Coaching more junior staff in software development
  • A ‘can do’ attitude; deliver within agreed budgets and timescales; self-organisation and good
    time management
  • Good communication and diplomacy skills with the ability to communicate complex technical information to others
