Senior Java Software Engineer

Senior Software Engineer (Java) | Banking | 2 days per week required in Manchester | up to £74k + other benefits

A large bank (one of the “big four”) are looking for a Senior Software Engineer with Java experience to join their team which is responsible for around 60 million accounts. As the Senior Software Engineer, you will be part of a team building a new banking platform which will help service their customers through multiple channels enabling the bank to create new inventive products using modern cloud services.

The Senior Software Engineer should bring as much experience with the following:

• Java Development with modern frameworks
• Microservices architecture
• Good understanding of design patterns and build activities through the SDLC
• It is important that you are comfortable following modern software engineering methods and best practices
• Highly beneficial if you bring experience with Kafka
• It is also a nice to have the following: The wider engineering team working on the cloud with techs like Docker based container development and deployment on Kubernetes, CI/CD methodology and tools such as Jenkins, GitHub, Spinnaker
