Head of Engineering | Banking | 2 days per week required in Chester | up to £120 – £145k base + other benefits

A large bank (one of the “big four”) are looking for a Head of Engineering to join them in their Chester office. This role falls is within their Cards Platform team. As the Head of Engineering, you will be looking over a team of around 150 people split across multiple locations in the UK as well as some offshore teams in India. The main goal for this role is to work with the rest of the engineering leaders in the team to help create change in the engineering culture to be more modern.

The Head of Engineering should bring as much experience with the following:

  • Self-motivated and capable of driving delivery in a new business area

  • Experience in a wide range of modern platforms and technologies

  • Strong capabilities for working with and influencing 3rd party providers

  • Great communication skills with business leaders and non-technical staff

  • Appreciation of how to use technology to deliver business change

  • Inspirational technology leader with a passion for rapidly delivering high quality software

  • Passionate about innovation, learning, and delivering value to our customers and users.

The package is paying up to £120,000 – £145,000 base + other benefits. This role does require 2 days per week in their Chester office. Unfortunately our client are not able to sponsor, so all candidates must have full eligibility to work without the need for sponsorship.
