We have another exciting opportunity for a high-profile day-rate contractor who is passionate about risk management and who thrives in a dynamic and challenging environment. Our client is a well known Investment Bank who have the requirement for a Market Risk Analyst to contribute to the success of their Commodities desk in their London based office.

This is a 6-12 month contract with a day rate of c.£550 (Inside IR35). The role offers flexible working from home / 2 days in the office and will suit a contractor who is available at the end of June / July.

Job Description: We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Market Risk Analyst to play a crucial role in monitoring, analyzing, and reporting the organization’s market risk exposure for their Commodities desk. You will closely follow market developments, engage with the Front Office, and provide proactive risk and profit and loss (P&L) advice to support business management. Additionally, you will contribute to the execution of the global valuation adjustment framework and actively participate in projects aimed at implementing system and regulatory changes.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • University Degree (2:1 or above) in a quantitative field, preferably (financial) mathematics, engineering, physics, or econometrics.
  • Professional qualification (e.g., PRM, FRM) is desirable.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in market risk management and / product control.
  • Experience in Gas, Power, and Carbon markets is a plus.
  • Familiarity with regulatory changes (FRTB, TRIM) and interacting with regulators is advantageous.
  • Experience using Sophis is preferred.
  • Strong technical skills in Python, SQL, and VBA.
  • In-depth knowledge of Commodities, Commodity derivatives, and associated pricing models.
