An expanding financial services group with a significant asset management arm is seeking an internal auditor to focus on its investments business. It already has a significant asset management business but there is a strategic shift towards both growing and insourcing asset management activities, including origination especially in private markets.
The Internal Audit function is well-resourced and highly respected. This role reports to an experienced Senior Audit Manager, and you will deliver end-to-end audits with a high level of ownership, while also leveraging subject matter experts where required. There is a reasonably flat structure, with a clear culture of mentoring and professional growth.
You will be responsible for the full audit cycle, scoping, fieldwork, stakeholder engagement, reporting and close-out. Audits typically last 3 months, with one active audit at a time alongside ad hoc planning or validation work. You will have real influence in shaping how audits are delivered and how assurance is communicated to the business. The team is collaborative and collegiate, and there’s a genuine commitment to work/life balance.
The ideal candidate will have strong stakeholder engagement skills and enjoy interacting with investment teams and front-office professionals. Asset management experience, particularly liquid or illiquid credit is a strong advantage. Candidates with external or internal audit or potentially candidates looking to transfer into audit from risk, controls or compliance with strong technical knowledge around credit investments could be considered.
Some travel (c. every 2–4 weeks) will be expected and is fully expensed. You will be based in central London and hybrid working requires only 2 days a week in the office. The package is excellent, with a very strong bonus and pension and over 30 days holidays.
