Deputy Head of Audit

We have a fantastic opportunity to join one of our well-regarded local government clients as a Deputy Head of Audit.

Reporting to the Head of Internal Audit, this role is a genuine second-in-command one. You will manage the audit team (c.9 staff) on a day to day basis, ensuring audits are resourced correctly. This is a budget holder role, so you will manage this and be required to attend audit committee meetings sometimes alongside the Head, and in their absence.

This is a very visible role within the organisation, providing you with a great opportunity to develop your skillset at the highest level.

To be considered you must have experience of local government, either from an in-house of a consultancy/consortium basis. You will also have a good level of management experience alongside strong interpersonal and stakeholder skills. The ideal candidate would be working within a public sector organisation at a Manager grade, looking to take their next career move.

This position can be predominantly remotely based, so you can reside anywhere in the UK. They offer an incredible work life balance, and are really focused on employee wellness.
