Data Privacy Legal Counsel

This specialist insurance organisation are in need of a data protection lawyer. They are looking for someone to lead and provide legal/contractual advice on data protection legislation to ensure compliance and risk mitigation. You will also resolve data protection matters in a contractual/transactional context for customers, supplier, and technology to ensure compliance with data privacy law .

Key Responsibilities :

• Review and negotiate supplier contracts
• Work with colleagues in delivering projects providing data/GDPR lead advice and obtaining consents needed to implement processes in partnerships with the technology, legal, GPO procurement and cyber security functions
• Providing high quality, pragmatic legal advice for corporate and commercial matters relating to GDPR, international data transfers
• Building proven relationships with a number of key business partners within the company
• Identifying and mitigating legal risks and raising key risks to the head of legal

 

About you: 

• A qualified solicitor with hands on experience advising on data protection. Significant post qualification experience
• A strong knowledge of EU data privacy and data protection regulations
• Possesses an eye for detail as well as a commercial, pragmatic attitude
• Quick to adjust work priorities to meet the changing demands of both the market and internal partners
• A collaborator and a dedicated teammate
• The ability to manage complex stakeholders and partnering relationships

The role is offered on a hybrid working basis with 3 days a week in the office which is just north of London.
