Compliance Analyst

Somerset | 3 days per week in office | Circa £37,000–£45,000 + bonus + excellent benefits

We are delighted to be supporting a long-established, purpose-driven financial services organisation in Somerset with the appointment of a Compliance Analyst.

This is an exciting opportunity to join a collaborative and highly regarded compliance function at a time of continued regulatory evolution. The organisation has a strong ethical foundation, no shareholder pressure, exceptionally long staff tenure and a reputation as a genuinely supportive and values-led employer.

The Role

This is a broad compliance position offering exposure across conduct and prudential requirements.

You will play a key role in ensuring the business remains aligned with evolving FCA and PRA expectations, working closely with senior stakeholders and providing practical, commercially aware compliance support.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Horizon scanning and regulatory change implementation

  • Interpreting and communicating FCA and PRA updates

  • Supporting Consumer Duty, IDD, SMCR and financial promotions requirements

  • Operational resilience oversight

  • Policy review and summarisation

  • Producing a monthly compliance newsletter

  • Providing ad hoc regulatory advice across the business

  • Supporting the Compliance Monitoring Programme (circa four audits per year)

  • Assisting with financial crime checks (not a dedicated financial crime role)

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys translating regulation into practical business action and influencing stakeholders across a regulated environment.

About You

We are seeking candidates with:

  • Financial services experience (insurance experience highly desirable)

  • Experience working within a regulated environment

  • An understanding of FCA and PRA frameworks

  • Exposure to regulatory change and implementation

  • Basic compliance monitoring or oversight experience

  • Strong knowledge of IDD, financial promotions and Consumer Duty

  • Confidence navigating the FCA Handbook

You will be naturally curious, proactive and comfortable balancing regulatory integrity with commercial awareness. Strong written communication skills are essential, as the role involves summarising policy and communicating regulatory updates clearly across the business.

The Organisation

Our client is a well-established, not-for-profit organisation with over a century of history. Their culture is inclusive, collaborative and stable, with many employees enjoying long tenures. They are known for doing the right thing — for customers and employees alike.

Package & Benefits

  • Salary circa £37,000–£45,000 (negotiable depending on experience)

  • Annual discretionary bonus (paid pro rata)

  • Annual cost of living increase

  • Generous pension scheme

  • Private medical cover from day one

  • Annual leave plus bank holidays

  • Hybrid working (minimum 3 days per week in the Somerset office)

If you are currently working in financial services and have experience of regulatory change, compliance monitoring or regulatory advisory work, this could be an excellent next step in a stable and rewarding environment.
