Job Purpose:

As a Capital Specialist, you will be the go-to expert for prudential and regulatory reporting matters, providing regulatory input and support across the organization.

Responsibilities:

As the successful candidate, you will lead the delivery of submissions and regulatory input on capital and IRB-related areas, ensuring compliance with new or amended regulatory returns to the PRA, providing group-wide regulatory input, and conducting first-line cyclical “deep dive” reviews of regulatory returns as necessary. You will also proactively support the MI and Projects Team to build and test new reports and provide regulatory input on relevant regulatory reporting project work.

In addition, you will support the development, documentation, and maintenance of written policies, management subjective decisions, and training materials, as well as maintaining the governance of key prudential and regulatory reporting matters relating to decisions and revisions on approaches or treatments of relevant calculations and regulatory reporting practice. You will also support developing relevant papers/proposals and provide ad hoc cover within BAU regulatory reporting activities.

Experience:

Ideally, you will have at least four years of experience working in, or with, regulatory reporting within retail banking, along with two years of experience working within capital regulations and regulatory reporting. You must also have deep or developing subject matter expertise within capital regulations and regulatory reporting, familiarity with the PRA regulatory framework relating to capital, and intermediate knowledge of Excel, Word, and PowerPoint. Additionally, it would be desirable if you have experience with IRB regulatory reporting requirements, specialist regulatory knowledge regarding the retail banking industry and IRB approach, and experience working in a consultancy/advisory role, in-house regulatory lead, or regulator.

Looking for someone who can explain regulatory concepts and reporting requirements, including capital calculations, ratios, and workings, and can create and develop regulatory policy documentation. Excellent communication and presentation skills are also essential, along with the ability to analyse and interpret capital data.
