Location: London (Hybrid – 3 days office)
Salary: £60,000 – £85,000
Level: Junior AVP & Experienced AVP
Sector: Investment Banking
A leading investment bank is expanding its compliance function and is hiring two AVPs to help build and embed a regulatory change framework from the ground up during a critical remediation and transformation phase.
This is not a “business-as-usual” regulatory change role. You will be joining at a point where the framework is being designed, challenged, and matured, with genuine scope to shape how regulatory obligations are identified, assessed, implemented, and evidenced across the bank.
Support the build, ownership, and ongoing maintenance of a bank-wide regulatory obligations register
Assess new and existing regulatory requirements (FCA / PRA / cross-jurisdictional) and map them to policies, controls, and business processes
Work closely with stakeholders across Compliance, Financial Crime, Risk, Audit, and the front office to validate how obligations are met in practice
Conduct look-back and gap analysis exercises, testing whether controls genuinely meet regulatory expectations (not just on paper)
Support horizon scanning activity and help integrate it into a sustainable regulatory change framework
Contribute to governance, MI, escalation, and committee materials as the framework matures
Someone who understands that regulatory change is more than tracking rules – it’s about implementation, evidence, and challenge
Experience working with or building obligations registers or similar regulatory mapping frameworks
Individuals comfortable operating in immature or evolving environments where processes are still being defined
A mindset closer to “audit-style questioning”: who is doing what, how, why, and does it genuinely meet the obligation?
People who can balance hands-on delivery with stakeholder engagement and influence
Essential: experience within investment banking / wholesale banking (industry, consultancy, or regulator)
Experience in regulatory change, compliance advisory, compliance risk, monitoring, audit, or consulting
Strong understanding of UK banking regulation (FCA/PRA; conduct and/or financial crime)
Confident working across multiple stakeholders and challenging constructively
Able to operate at either:
Junior AVP: strong execution, groundwork, and analysis
Experienced AVP: autonomy, judgement, and framework ownership
Right to work in the UK
Comfortable with hybrid working (3 days per week in the office)
