Barclay Simpson believes in the importance of equality in the workplace and is committed to ensuring best practice and compliance with all laws and regulations relevant to our business in all countries where we operate.

Although we operate solely in cyber security, data and governance recruitment, which are not high-risk sectors, we are committed to ensuring and that our policies and procedures are strong and that any potential risks of modern slavery in our own business or in any of our supply chains are eradicated.

Structure of our organisation

Barclay Simpson is a specialist cyber security, data and governance recruitment and executive search consultancy headquartered in the UK.

Barclay Simpson delivers permanent recruitment solutions and interim contract services to organisations in the commercial, banking, financial services, professional services and public sector.

Barclay Simpson Associates Limited and Barclay Simpson Solutions Limited are privately owned and managed UK companies.

Our business

We operate via organised divisions dedicated to the following specific disciplines:

Our supply chains

We source individual candidates and independent contractors for permanent and interim positions with our clients.

Due diligence processes for slavery and human trafficking

As part of our business, we supply temporary personnel to a number of clients. We have established and audited procedures to ensure that all temporary personnel supplied have a right to work in the UK, have their own bank account into which their remuneration is paid and – where we are responsible for temporary personnel while they are working at a client’s premises – that they are free to leave their assignment on reasonable notice.

All employees have a process by which they can report any suspected wrongdoing and are protected where such concerns are raised in good faith.

Supply chain management

All staff involved in the engagement of suppliers must communicate our commitment to upholding human rights and equality and our zero-tolerance approach to forced labour of any kind.

In addition, we ensure adherence to the Modern Slavery Act for our contractors with a contractual statement within our terms of business.

Risk and compliance

As our core business is focused on the provision of governance recruitment services to clients in the commercial, banking, financial services, professional services and public sector, Barclay Simpson considers that we do not operate in a particularly high-risk sector and we will continue to evaluate this assessment on an annual basis.

Training and key performance indicators

Given our view that Barclay Simpson’s exposure to modern slavery risk is limited, we have not implemented any specific training or key performance indicators in relation to modern slavery or human trafficking during the previous financial year.

This statement is made pursuant to section 54(1) of the Modern Slavery Act 2015 and constitutes our slavery and human trafficking statement for the financial year ending 31 December 2019.
