Vice President – Liquidity Risk Management

  • £90,000-120,000 Base + Benefits + Bonus

Our client, a global financial institution, is seeking an ambitious and highly skilled Liquidity Risk Manager to join its expert risk management team. The selected candidate will play a vital role in supporting the bank’s risk and global treasury transformation programs, with a focus on liquidity risk management.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Execute a comprehensive and granular program of liquidity second line of defense, working closely with the Global Treasury team to ensure appropriate measurement, monitoring and management of liquidity and key liquidity metrics.
  • Provide independent and effective review and challenge of key liquidity processes (including ILAAP, Recovery and Resolution Planning) and liquidity programs of work.
  • Review stress testing processes as they pertain to liquidity, including but not limited to the scenarios that are chosen for the stress tests and assumptions made on liquidity of both assets and liabilities. Perform and document independent analysis on the assumptions to ensure an independent viewpoint. Support and refine existing stress model assumptions and controls (limits, guidelines, model framework).
  • Review both liquidity risk management policies, limits, standards, controls, metrics and thresholds and ensures they are within the defined corporate standards approved by the Board and ALCO. This includes annual reviews of the Contingent Funding plan.
  • Review Front Line Units and the Enterprise’s governance processes to ensure liquidity risk taken is in accordance with the firm’s Risk Appetite and that the proper risk framework is deployed to measure, monitor and control the risk.
  • Work with Finance, Risk, and Markets Treasury to ensure requisite support for activities, including consistencies in framework, methodologies, and reporting and improved liquidity management analysis in external reporting.
  • Build relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders across Risk, Group Treasury, ALCM, Markets Treasury and front-line businesses.
  • Develop and implement effective processes supporting risk strategy.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Undergraduate or post-graduate degree in a relevant numerate subject. Qualifications in accounting and/or finance is beneficial (CPA, CFA, FRM, etc.)
  • Practical experience of liquidity management within a financial institution, either at branch level or as part of a larger markets treasury desk.
  • Strong understanding of best practice and regulatory expectations for enterprise risk management.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving and communication skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
