Senior Model Validation Manager

An international bank are looking for a Senior Model Validation Manager to join their Global Risk team in the London branch. In this role, you will play a critical part in the validation and governance of model risk for all Credit Derivatives/MBS and Algo models covered by their model risk policy.

Responsibilities:

• Validate and ensure the adherence to the management and control framework for internal model validation, in alignment with the bank’s strategy and goals.
• Actively engage with model developers, sponsors, owners, and other stakeholders throughout the model lifecycle.
• Provide technical expertise and mentoring for a team of quantitative specialists dedicated to model validation across Credit/MBS Valuation and Algo Trading.
• Operate as part of the second line of defense, effectively managing and mitigating model risk.

Requirements: 

• Proven experience in validating and governing Credit Derivatives/MBS models, such as CDS, CLN or CDO, with a deep understanding of the associated risks.
• Strong knowledge of numerical integration methods  such as Monte Carlo,  PDE and C++
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
• Sound knowledge of model risk policies and regulatory requirements.
• Knowledge of Algo models would be a bonus
• Technical expertise in specific areas of model validation.
• Ability to work collaboratively and drive results in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
