Position: Lead Systems Engineer

Location: South West England, (Hybrid and Flexible working environment)

Type: Permanent

Salary: £75,000 – £90,000

My client is looking for a Lead Systems Engineer to join their team who has proven experience in managing and progressing engineering teams.

Some of the tools and technologies you will be working with are:

  • A mixture of underlying technical background spanning across Windows, Linux, LAN, Firewalls, Cloud, Software, Scripting and Clampdowns/technologies
  • Exposure with Hardware, Servers, Storage, Backup, Network appliances
  • Experience with product/system safety – Physical & Electrical safety as well as environmental and security

What you will be doing is:

  • Analysis, design and delivery of solutions to meet programme, business and customer requirements.
  • Applying engineering expertise to solve complex engineering problems.
  • Leading, inspiring and developing engineering teams
  • Knowledge of the latest technologies and how they can be applied to complex problems.
  • Building relationships with customers and partners
  • Leading the engineering aspects of winning bids
  • Promoting the development and evolution of innovative ideas to provide new products and solutions.

Essential skills:

Professionally Registered – Chartered Engineer – CEng

  • The ability to lead on technical solutions through the whole lifecycle from concept to in-service.
  • Prior experience of providing technical leadership of engineering/system engineering teams
  • Experience of integrating commercial off the shelf technologies
  • Understanding of information systems and architectures

Desirable:

  • Delivery, installation, and maintenance of Military IT equipment
  • Understanding of development frameworks and software implementation
  • Understanding of Information Assurance (IA) and Cyber security, or security architectures
