Head of Operational Risk

My global banking client, based in Amsterdam, is looking to hire an experienced Head of Operational Risk to join their established and growing Risk team. The role will oversee predominantly Operational Risk but will also cover most areas of Enterprise Risk Management. The role has come about due to both growth and internal mobility and will manage a team of 5 senior Operational Risk Managers.

Key responsibilities

• Provide advice, support, and challenging acting as a second line of defence, covering Predominantly Operational Risk but also many areas within the wider Enterprise Risk domain.
• Assess and evaluate the impact of upcoming changes in the regulatory landscape;
• Educate and support first line to understand and assess key risks and controls including implementation of Risk and Control Self-Assessment (RCSA) initiatives, re-evaluating the risk framework and hands on projects in the implementation of new regulatory strategies
• Manage and develop talent – 5 direct reports at senior manager level
• Manage senior stakeholders up to and including C-Suite

Requirements

• 6-15 years experience within Operational and/or Enterprise Risk management
• Strong experience and knowledge of the financial Services world
• Experience with both Dutch specific and the wider European regulations regarding risk and compliance activities
• Experienced with stakeholder engagement at all levels
• Management experience of Risk professionals
