Head of Operational Risk

My Global Banking Client is looking for an experience Head of Operational Risk to join their growing function. The role, based in their Amsterdam office, will lead a team of 5 Senior Operational Risk Managers and cover most areas of Operational and Enterprise Risk Management. There is opportunity to expand the role further and carve out a larger scope of work for the team should you wish. My client are putting more of an emphasis on the importance of a risk based approach, in keeping with the changing and evolving markets.

Key responsibilities

• Provide advice, support, and challenging, acting as a second line of defence, covering
  the predominantly operational risk but most areas of the enterprise risk domain
• Assess and evaluate the impact of upcoming changes in the regulatory landscape;
• Educate and support first line to understand and assess key risks and controls
• Manage and develop talent (5 direct team members-senior managers)

Requirements

• c 6-15 years experience within Operational and/or Enterprise Risk management
• Experience working within a complex structured, financial services organisation
• Knowledge of Dutch specific and the wider European regulations for risk and compliance
• Team management experience
