Financial Controls Manager (UK SOx)

Barclay Simpson have been engaged by a prestigious, well known FTSE 100 retail brand who are expanding their established UK SOx readiness function with the recruitment of a new Financial Controls Manager. This would be an ideal 1st or 2nd move for a Big 4/Top 10 qualified accountant with SOx exposure, or an experienced controls professional looking to make their next move. This role is predominantly homeworking with the requirement to go to the office approximately 1 day/month.

Reporting into the Head of Financial Controls, you play a critical role in the continued strengthening of the Financial Controls Framework across the Group as well as ongoing UK SOx readiness efforts. You will plan & deliver the testing of control design & operational effectiveness as well as overseeing control self assessment exercises. You will work closely with the business to perform end-to-end process walkthroughs, identify any design gaps and provide remediation plans. Providing training to process & control owners to increase awareness of the importance of a strong control environment will also be a key part of the role. In addition, you will drive control automation through the use of their GRC tool.

You will be a qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA), preferably from a Big 4/Top 10 background. You must have recent SOx exposure – this can be from an Internal Controls, External Audit or Internal Audit perspective. You will be a confident communicator with strong stakeholder engagement skills. Full eligibility to work in the UK without visa sponsorship is essential.

The salary package on offer is up to £65,000 + bonus (20%) + private medical + benefits.
