Data Governance Officer

  • Hybrid-WFH/In London 3 days a week
  • £70k-£80K per annum

Data Governance Officer required for a market-leading bank. The role will mainly be focused on driving data governance maturity throughout the organisation.

Responsibilities

Ensure Maintenance & Embeds:

  • Data Governance Policy & Standards and defines guardrails, providing coaching to business SME’s on governance process implementation in alignment with centrally defined policy/standards.
  • Processes in order to operationalise data governance and data management.
  • Data quality and governance workflows, acting as a centre of excellence to support teams e.g. defining data quality rules and onboarding onto the tool.

Enables:

  • The organisation to progress all aspects of data maturity, including data architecture maturity, management and quality through data capability transformation roadmaps. Direct the adoption and change management across all data lifecycles to embed data principles, adhere to data policies and operate efficient data processes.
  • Organisational data maturity improvement through targeted support to data Owners & Stewards and Data Custodian in order to continue to automate manual processes.
  • Builds visualization tools and dashboards.

Aligns:

  • Efforts across roles in the data lifecycle to ensure consistency.
  • Data governance efforts to technology and other functions.
  • Champion data management, governance, and quality across all EAB Lines of Business and Support Function.

Skills/Experience

  • Expert Data Governance experience within financial services or consulting expertise.
  • Experience in data quality/data governance programmes is essential.
  • Experience in data science modelling is preferred.
  • Reporting and data analysis; able to visually represent data and processes.
  • Good understanding of regulations and required data policies to ensure compliance.
  • Experience working in a high-pressure, time-sensitive environment.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with a broad range of stakeholders and lead change.
  • Ability to think strategically with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Well organised with strong verbal and written communication skills.
