An innovative UK challenger bank is on the search for a skilled professional with managerial expertise to lead its Model Development and Impairment Process within the analytics team. This role is pivotal in overseeing portfolios in both Wholesale, covering Invoice and Real Estate finance, and Retail, including Motor loans, Term loans, and App-to-pay services.

Your technical toolkit should include advanced proficiency in SAS, SQL, and Excel.

In the domain of Model Development, you will take the reins in crafting IFRS9 models for both the Retail and Wholesale segments. Your responsibility will be to refine these models, integrating feedback from users and regulatory bodies, and to monitor their performance meticulously. You will oversee the specialist model implementations and ensure that they meet the rigorous standards set by user acceptance testing. Addressing and resolving issues identified during the Validation phase will also fall under your remit.

When it comes to the Monthly Impairment Process, you will own the monthly execution of calculating IFRS9 impairment provisions, adhering to strict regulatory reporting standards. You will generate impairment forecasts to facilitate the annual budgeting process and oversee any changes to IFRS9 impairment models, including conducting impact analyses. Your analytical skills will be key in deriving insights from data and in identifying trends within the impairment provisions. Moreover, you will engage in extensive impact analyses, scenario planning, and sensitivity assessments, while also designing and maintaining the controls around the impairment calculation process.

Beyond these specifics, you will support the risk oversight team and contribute to various business committees on a regular basis. Your collaborative skills will shine as you work closely with stakeholders from Finance, Product, Credit Risk, Collections, and both Internal and External Audits.
