We are working with a global trading firm that is seeking a VP-level Market Risk professional to join their growing risk function in New York. This front-office-aligned role offers significant exposure to both physical and financial commodities, with a particular focus on energy markets.
This is an excellent opportunity for a driven individual to step into a fast-paced, commercially-focused environment with meaningful influence over risk oversight and strategic decision-making.
Provide daily oversight of market risk across energy and commodity trading portfolios
Monitor exposures, risk limits, and escalate breaches as appropriate
Perform stress testing, scenario analysis, and contribute to the improvement of risk models
Partner with trading, product control, technology, and compliance teams
Help enhance ETRM systems, reporting capabilities, and controls
Proven experience in market risk within a commodities trading environment
Strong product knowledge across energy markets (e.g., natural gas, LNG, oil)
Technical proficiency in Excel; familiarity with VBA, Python, or SQL is advantageous
Experience with ETRM platforms (e.g., Endur) preferred
Excellent stakeholder engagement skills, with experience working closely with trading desks
Degree in a relevant discipline (Finance, Economics, Mathematics, Engineering)
