Business Continuity Manager

  • Hybrid-WFJ/London 3 days a week
  • £550 per day (inside IR35)

Business Continuity Manager required for Financial Services organisation. The role will be centred on the delivery of the BCM roadmap.

  1. Implement the BCM Framework and Policy by supporting the BC Coordinators to create Functional departmental BCP plans depts such as Credit, Compliance HR etc and produce Service Recovery Plans for the 4 Important Business Services, to include workarounds and review gaps identified to ensure the plans remediate.

Consider and include:

  • The production of internal/external communication plans as part of the BCPs and SRPs
  • Develop and deliver Training as part of the implementation.
  • Consider how we produce the BCPs for the other jurisdictions for Paris, New York, and Singapore – whether they will be factored in as part of the London Plans (to be discussed and agreed the best approach)
  • Test the Plans

2. Update the company (UK, Paris, Singapore, and NY) current BCPs, to update to Incident response plans and align to the Crisis Management Framework. Revised BCP will be created separately from the London.

3. Design, produce and deliver Training and Awareness for Crisis Management and BCM

4. Produce an Incident Management Policy and Operating Standards, with input from IT and Operational Risk and communicate the implementation of the Incident Management Policy

5. Develop a multi-level, layered scenario testing strategy, comprising of a library of exercise types – to scale up and mature over time, aligned to existing exercising/testing requirements currently executed, to incorporate:

  • Corruption, deletion or manipulation of data critical to the delivery of an IBS (data restoration) – establish what is the minimum critical data to meet IBS’ & what are the upstream & downstream impacts
  • Unavailability of facilities or key people
  • Unavailability of third-party services which are critical to the delivery of IBS
  • Loss or reduced provision of technology underpinning the delivery of IBS
  • Event Response Planning, Business Continuity, IT DR.
  • Cyber/Malware Attack
  • Loss of critical systems/Citrix & Third Parties
  • BCM Exercises

6. Develop and implement a 12-month activity calendar, to include core actions required to be undertaken, to include: a review of CBS’/IBS’, scenario exercising of impact tolerances, SRTOs review of IBS/CBS process maps, self-assessment, BC response plans and exercising, ITDR testing.

7. Develop and agree KPIs/KRIs for IBS’ and create service operational resilience ‘dash boards’ for ORC to include: System/Service availability, IT resilience, DR capability RTO/RTC system alignment to service RTO, Third- Party resilience status and SLA performance, BC compliance status, Key risks outside of risk appetite and resilience risk issues, Incidents encountered, and if there has been a breach to one or more impact to impact tolerances/SRTOs.

8. Production a BCM (firm-wide) RCSA.

This is an initial 6-month contract, hybrid working with 3 days a week in the city of London.
