Retained Search for a Head of Risk and Governance for eCommerce Company

A leading German eCommerce organisation engaged Barclay Simpson on a retained basis to lead their search for a Head of Risk and Governance to be based in Berlin.

After in-depth briefing and scoping meetings, it was determined to be a highly confidential search that would initially focus on a market mapping/long-list exercise to collaboratively create a very focused shortlist before engaging with potential candidates. Once the shortlist was agreed, the team at Barclay Simpson made active approaches to these candidates, carrying out in-depth interviews and benchmarking each applicant against the desired competency and skill requirements agreed with the client, creating detailed dossiers for each candidate. The team at Barclay Simpson worked closely with the internal HR team to schedule and prepare candidates for interviews and, having completed the process successfully, ensured the successful negotiation of an offer and later onboarding.

The retained executive search option that Barclay Simpson is able to provide ultimately allowed for high levels of collaboration, greater control of the market awareness of a sensitive hire, and additional confidence that no relevant candidates had been left unexplored as part of the search.
