Chief Risk and Compliance Officer 12 Month FTC for Financial Services Company

Opportunity

Our client, one of the leading financial service firms in Asia, contacted Barclay Simpson to assist with an urgent Chief Risk and Compliance Officer hire for their European Headquarters based in London. With an existing relationship already in place, they reached out for us to assist on an exclusive search for a new CRO/CCO. The client was in the process of having a major restructure and had a timeframe of 4-6 weeks to get a new CRO/CCO on the ground.

Approach

Having worked on similar MD level Interim roles, we had confidence in finding somebody quickly, especially given the critical time frame that we had to deliver within. However, there were a few challenges in finding the combined SMF 16, 17 and SMF4 experience that was required, as well as having to sign an NDA due to the delicacy of the firm’s situation. This said, we immediately reached out to our existing contractors and with together with our market knowledge, proactively targeted new candidates working on similar projects at organisations that had already completed a similar restructure.

Outcome

Within 48hrs we successfully delivered a strong pipeline of Chief Risk and Compliance Officer candidates which included contractors who were available within a 2 week notice period. The candidates were equally qualified with the required experience although the successful placement did result with further approval to increase the budget to bring the preferred candidate on board. There were some onboarding delays which pushed the new hire to only start after 3 months.
