Our CSR initiatives

We recognise our responsibility to limit our impact on the world and enhance our contribution to it

Corporate social responsibility (CSR) is a topic very close to our hearts at Barclay Simpson. We have made our CSR efforts accessible to everyone within the team and have a CSR committee made up of volunteers from across the business. Through their efforts we are able to work more closely in line with our values and give back to the communities we serve.

Charitable volunteering

We offer two days off per year for everyone to volunteer

Everyone within the Barclay Simpson team is entitled to two days off every year to volunteer at a charity of their choosing. We also join together as a group to raise money for our nominated charity, Shooting Star Chase on a regular basis.

Heart of the City

We’re taking action against climate change

We know how important it is for small and medium sized businesses (SMEs) to play their part in tackling the climate change crisis, and that’s why we’ve partnered with Heart of the City, championing their campaign ‘Climate for SMEs: 4 Steps to Action’. Through this course, we’re proud to be working towards a plan for our business to achieve net zero.

Octopus EV Salary Sacrifice Scheme

Every employee has the opportunity to reduce their carbon footprint

CSR means we can give back to the world as a group, but we also empower our employees to contribute individually too. Through the Octopus EV Salary Sacrifice Scheme, our team can save between 30-60% on a brand-new electric car and limit their impact on the environment. Charging points, car insurance, and maintenance are all included as a part of the scheme.

The U9 Glebe Lionesses

Supporting an equal opportunities grassroots football club

Barclay Simpson is proud to sponsor the U9 Glebe Lionesses, an all-girls affiliated grassroots football club located in Kent. The U9 Glebe Lionesses are close to our hearts because the daughter of one of our employee’s is on the team, and their equal opportunities outlook resonates with our own. Glebe FC are committed to making sure there are opportunities for everyone to play football, not just the boys. At this important time in the history of female football, we’re hopeful that the next generation will have an even playing ground - from the football pitch to the boardroom eventually!
