Head of Legal

Our client is an international brokerage with a long-standing presence in Paris. They are seeking an experienced Legal Counsel to join the business and to lead the management of all legal matters concerning the French legal entity as well as support and contribute to the wider group legal function in supporting legal matters in additional EU branches.

Responsibilities would include reviewing, drafting and negotiating brokerage agreements; employment contracts; employment law obligations; technology agreements; reviewing of marketing materials; vendor agreements; partner agreements and non-disclosure agreements.

This position will actively support the day-to-day operations of all areas of the business including Business Development and Sales, Compliance, Finance, Marketing, Human Resources, Product Development and Operations.

The role would suit a Senior Legal Counsel stepping into their first ‘lead’ role.

Experience required:

  • 10+ years PQE with detailed knowledge of French Commercial and Employment law
  • Experience of working within Financial Services is required
  • Knowledge of traded and structured products is advantageous
  • Knowledge/experience of legal matters in additional EU jurisdictions is advantageous
  • Fluent French and English skills to a legal documentation level are essential
  • Candidates with Private Practice, In-House or Consultancy experience are welcome to apply
