Sanctions & AML Regulatory Advisor

My Global client in the capital markets and banking space is looking to take on a detail oriented Sanctions and AML regulatory specialist to join their advisory team. The role will focus on the interpretation of regulatory and legal requirements to advise business areas on the appropriate policies and procedures. The role will sit in the wider compliance team which is has over 100 specialist compliance professionals with plenty of room to grow, expand your knowledge and develop your career. As a Regulatory Advisor you will providing advice to senior management and the different lines of business across the business on the concrete application of the Sanctions, AML & CTF laws, regulations, standards and market practices. The role will cover advisory of the regulatory policies and procedures across the full portfolio of geographical entities within the group.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Provide advice on EU, US, UK and UN sanctions requirements to a wide range of stakeholders.
  • Keep up to date knowledge of ever-changing sanctions landscape and assess the impact of new regulatory requirements.
  • Design and maintain sanctions ( & AML and CTF) compliance policies and procedures.
  • Assess, maintain and update the sanctions control framework.
  • Contribute and take the lead on areas of the anti-financial crime training and awareness program.
  • Assist in keeping the AML/KYC framework up to date

 

Requirements:

  • Expert knowledge of sanctions with EU, US, UK and UN sanctions laws
  • 5 years’ experience (minimum) in the interpretation of sanctions laws and regulations in the financial services sector.
  • Experience in preparing and drafting sanctions policies & procedures.
  • Experience in investigating for potential sanctions breaches.
  • Knowledge of AML/CTF with previous experience in interpreting, advising on or monitoring AML/CTF compliance in the financial services sector
  • Strong stakeholder and relationship management
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in English – ability to analyse and summarise.
  • Securities sector knowledge and/or experience is a plus
