Network Security Specialist
I am currently working with a global technology company that is looking for an experienced Internet Security Specialist to focus on securing and protecting large-scale ISP and telecommunications environments.
The role sits at the intersection of network security, Internet infrastructure and security operations, with responsibility for identifying threats, improving network hygiene and driving security best practice across a complex international environment.
Key characteristics we are looking for:
- Strong networking and Internet security background, ideally within a large ISP or telecommunications environment.
- Deep understanding of BGP, RPKI, DNS/DNSSEC, DDoS mitigation and network hygiene, including BCP38/84.
- Experience investigating and tracing BGP hijacks, BGP leaks, DDoS attacks, malware and abuse traffic.
- Strong understanding of network security controls such as CoPP, ACLs and TACACS, alongside security monitoring and incident response.
- Comfortable working with international operational teams, security functions and external organisations to drive improvements.
- Knowledge of organisations such as RIPE NCC, RIRs, MANRS, M3AAWG and CableLabs would be highly advantageous.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to present technical findings and make recommendations to both technical and operational stakeholders.
This would suit someone who has a genuine passion for Internet security and large-scale ISP networks, and who wants to have a tangible impact on the security and resilience of global Internet infrastructure.
Currently there is no option for for VISA sponsorship for this role.
