We are partnered with a well-established commodities trading firm that is expanding its quantitative function and is hiring a Quantitative Analyst to join its Houston or New York City office.

The Role

You will work alongside traders and originators to develop and maintain the quantitative infrastructure used to price complex products, evaluate risk, and support structured transactions. The role combines hands-on model development with ownership of critical data and analytics workflows.

What We’re Looking For

  • Typically 3–5 years of experience in a quantitative role within commodities trading, ideally focused on U.S. power and natural gas

  • Strong background in financial mathematics, including derivatives, options pricing, and risk measurement

  • Experience developing and maintaining scalable pricing or analytics libraries in a collaborative development environment

  • Solid understanding of object-oriented programming and software design principles

  • Hands-on coding experience in languages such as Python, C#, C++, and/or VBA

  • Working knowledge of cloud and relational databases (e.g. Redshift, Oracle, Snowflake)

  • Familiarity with data visualization or lightweight web frameworks such as Streamlit or Dash

  • Exposure to commodity trading and risk management platforms is a plus

  • Prior experience working directly with trading or origination teams
