An opportunity has arisen for an Ireland based Risk Officer to take on a senior, regulated role within the European entity, with responsibility for overseeing risk across a MiFID investment firm.

The Role

This role is responsible for ownership and delivery of the local risk management framework, covering investment risk, operational risk, IT and cyber risk, and financial and operational resilience. The position carries significant accountability and visibility, including regular engagement with the Board and senior committees.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Delivering risk analysis, reporting, and escalation to the Board and senior committees
  • Oversight of risk identification, assessment, and remediation, including investment errors
  • Delivery of ICARAP and operational resilience self assessments
  • Oversight of IT and cyber risk frameworks, including regulatory requirements such as DORA
  • Monitoring regulatory developments and supporting implementation of change across the entity
  • Oversight of outsourcing and third party risk

The role is supported by established regional and global risk teams, frameworks, and systems, and operates closely with compliance, technology, and infrastructure risk colleagues.

Candidate Profile

Suitable candidates will have:

  • Broad experience across risk management disciplines, including operational risk and resilience
  • Experience operating within regulated investment management environments
  • Strong track record of delivering risk reporting to senior management, committees, and boards
  • Experience implementing risk frameworks, policies, and systems
  • Clear, confident communication and the ability to lead and influence

Relevant risk or investment management qualifications are beneficial.
